Lucille Carr-Kaffashan is bringing two shows back to Don't Tell Mama with a cabaret honoring strong female songwriters of the 70's on February 17th and the 21st century on March 16th, both at 4 pm. We talked about both shows and what's coming up next for her this year.
In honor and celebration of Nick's memory, over 150 of his friends, colleagues, and family from all over the world came together to sing the song that will keep Nick in our hearts forever 'One of the Great Ones' from A Bronx Tale. The resulting video was featured during the streaming of the memorial.

Susanne Mack in Where I Belong, plays at Pangea on Thursday, May 16th, Friday, May 17th, Thursday, May 23rd and Thursday, May 30th, with all shows at 7 pm. Co-Directed by Barb Jungr and Tanya Moberly and with musical direction by Paul Greenwood, the show is Mack's fourth solo show at Pangea and features songs by David Bowie, Des'ree, Graham Gouldman, Joe Jackson, Patty Larkin, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Peter Sarstedt, Paul Simon, Tom Waits and Brian Wilson.

In celebration of Black History Month, actor/vocalist Richard Johnson will perform the premiere of his one man play, 'Pappy on Da Underground Railroad,' directed by Keith Allen, accompanied by musical director Terry Wallstein. Johnson is best known for his cabaret shows on the music of Nat King Cole and as a stylist of antique gospel music and Negro Spirituals. In the play-which ascends into soaring spiritual music-a 'conductor' the Underground Railroad educates and prepares a group of runaway slaves for their journey northward with him. He is met with the daunting challenge of selling freedom to men and women who don't believe freedom exists for them. Performances will be February 11 to 27 at Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street, Manhattan.

This October at The Triad, the incredibly talented and inspirational Amy Oestreicher will make her NYC cabaret debut with her show Gutless & Grateful: A Musical Feast which will feature a brand-new song, ("Still Alive") written by acclaimed composer David Friedman and featuring lyrics by Kathie Lee Gifford (their new Broadway show Scandalous begins previews a week before Amy's first performance). Gutless & Grateful will also feature a new song written by Oestreicher herself, "Corner."
