Casting has been announced for freeFall Theatre's upcoming production of the Tony-winning musical Spring Awakening, which will open July 19. Performances will continue through August 18.

Directed by freeFall Artistic Director Eric Davis, the cast will star Rachel Potter (Broadway's EVITA, THE ADDAMS FAMILY) as Wendla, Chase Peacock (Broadway's AMERICAN IDIOT) as Melchior, Scott Daniel as Hanschen, Katie Berger as Anna, Lucas Wells as Moritz, Emmanuel Carrero as Ernst, Griffeth Whitehurst as Georg, Chris Brent Davis as Otto, Alex Covington as Ilse, Caroline Drage as Thea, Honey Ribar as Martha, Lisa Powers Tricomi as Adult Female and Steve Garland as Adult Male.

The groundbreaking rock musical that took Broadway by storm, will take to the stage as the finale of freeFall's season. Following in the foot steps of last summer's smash hit CABARET, this daring evening of musical theatre draws stunning parallels between the youth of the late 19th century (when the original play was written) and the youth of today. Fearlessly employing anachronism and a dynamic expressionistic style, don't miss freeFall's bold take on this modern classic. (This show contains adult language and situations and is intended for mature audiences only.)

Spring Awakening, which has book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik , is based on the play by Frank Wedekind. The upcoming production will feature musical direction by Michael Raabe and choreography by Megan Morgan.

The design team includes scenic designer Eric Davis, costume designer Scott Daniel, lighting designer Mike Wood, sound designer Kyle Easey and prop designer Allison Davis. Daniel LeMien is Production Stage Manager and Susan Haldeman is Assistant Stage Manager.

Tickets can be purchased at www.freefalltheatre.com or by calling the freeFall Theatre Box Office at (727) 498-5205. Student, Senior and group discounts are available. The theatre is located at 6099 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg.
